OUR MISSION                                                  Read the Oakwood & Outremont 40th Anniversary Speech here.

Oakwood Sister City Association works to actively fulfill the stated mission of Sister Cities International, honoring President Eisenhower’s 1956 mandate for citizen diplomacy, to “promote peace through mutual respect, understanding and cooperation – one individual, one community at a time.” We are volunteer citizens of Oakwood, Montgomery County, Ohio, USA, who host adult delegations and exchange students visiting Oakwood from our sister cities. We sponsor students and others from the Oakwood area visiting our sister cities and we put on community events in Oakwood to raise awareness in the community.

Oakwood currently has two very beautiful and dynamic French speaking sister cities: Le Vésinet, France, a suburb of Paris and Outremont, Canada, a suburb of Montreal. We also have a friendship pact with Unterhaching, Germany, a suburb of Munich.

Become a member of the Oakwood Sister City Association to enjoy the benefits of cultural exchange, local networking dinners, French language lessons, guided foreign tourism, student exchanges, and E-pal relationships with students and adults in our sister cities. You will receive our newsletter "Nouvelles" which will familiarize you with our upcoming opportunities to participate and news of our very active community group.

If you are interested in becoming a member, fill out the attached document (2016-17 membership form) and send to the address listed below with your payment in cash or by check. Please make tax-deductible checks payable to: Sister City Association of Oakwood. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
